Typical Day in Role
• Lead end-to-end delivery of Capital Markets technology projects across trading, risk management, market data, regulatory, and infrastructure initiatives.
• Manage project scope, timelines, budget, governance, risks, issues, and dependencies throughout the project lifecycle.
• Partner with business stakeholders, technology teams, vendors, and PMO groups to ensure successful project execution and delivery alignment.
• Coordinate project planning activities including resource planning, delivery scheduling, milestone tracking, and status reporting.
• Facilitate project governance meetings, steering committee sessions, stakeholder updates, and executive presentations.
• Manage cross-functional teams including development, QA, infrastructure, operations, and business analysis resources.
• Support project delivery within Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery environments.
• Monitor project risks, issues, and change requests while driving mitigation and resolution strategies.
• Ensure projects comply with enterprise governance standards, audit requirements, security controls, and regulatory obligations.
• Coordinate implementation planning, production releases, environment readiness, and operational transition activities.
• Work closely with Capital Markets business teams to support delivery of trading platform enhancements, operational improvements, and risk management initiatives.
• Prepare executive dashboards, project financials, RAID logs, and delivery status reports for senior leadership and governance committees.
• Drive stakeholder communication and change management activities throughout the project lifecycle.
Candidate Requirements / Must-Have Skills
• 7+ years of experience as an IT Project Manager within banking or financial services environments.
• Strong experience delivering technology projects within Capital Markets, Investment Banking, or Treasury environments.
• Proven experience managing complex enterprise technology initiatives involving multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
• Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies including Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery models.
• Experience managing project governance, budgeting, forecasting, RAID management, and executive reporting.
• Experience working with Front Office, Trading, Risk Management, Market Data, or Regulatory Technology teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with experience presenting to senior leadership.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects within fast-paced delivery environments.
Nice-To-Have Skills
• Experience supporting trading platforms, market risk systems, regulatory reporting, or capital markets infrastructure initiatives.
• Knowledge of Capital Markets products including equities, fixed income, derivatives, FX, or structured products.
• Familiarity with enterprise delivery tools such as Jira, Confluence, Clarity, MS Project, or ServiceNow.
• Previous experience working within Top 5 Canadian Banks or global financial institutions.
• Experience managing vendor relationships and third-party delivery teams.
• Exposure to cloud migration, infrastructure modernization, or cybersecurity initiatives within banking environments.

Degrees or Certifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field required.
• PMP, Scrum Master, SAFe, or related project management certifications considered an asset.
