IT Project Manager – Digital Banking / Online & Mobile Banking

Typical Day in Role

• Lead end-to-end delivery of digital banking technology initiatives across online banking, mobile banking, customer onboarding, payments, authentication, and self-service platforms.
• Manage project scope, timelines, budget, governance, risks, issues, and dependencies throughout the project lifecycle.
• Partner with business stakeholders, digital product teams, technology teams, UX groups, and vendors to ensure successful project delivery.
• Coordinate project planning activities including resource management, milestone tracking, implementation planning, and delivery scheduling.
• Facilitate project governance meetings, executive steering committees, stakeholder updates, and delivery status reporting.
• Manage cross-functional teams including development, QA, infrastructure, business analysis, digital operations, and release management resources.
• Support Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project delivery methodologies within enterprise digital banking environments.
• Monitor project risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests while driving mitigation and resolution strategies.
• Coordinate testing activities including SIT, UAT, production validation, and customer readiness activities.
• Support implementation planning, release coordination, environment readiness, and production deployment activities.
• Work closely with Digital Banking and Customer Experience teams to deliver enhancements that improve customer engagement, usability, and operational efficiency.
• Ensure project deliverables align with enterprise governance standards, security controls, regulatory obligations, and customer experience objectives.
• Prepare executive dashboards, project financials, RAID logs, and delivery updates for senior leadership and governance committees.
• Drive stakeholder communication and change management activities throughout project execution.

Candidate Requirements / Must-Have Skills

• 7+ years of experience as an IT Project Manager within banking or financial services environments.
• Strong experience managing online banking, mobile banking, digital channels, or customer-facing technology initiatives.
• Proven experience delivering complex enterprise digital transformation projects involving multiple business and technology stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies including Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery models.
• Experience managing project governance, budgeting, forecasting, RAID management, and executive reporting.
• Experience working with Digital Product, Customer Experience, Operations, Security, and Technology teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with experience presenting to senior leadership.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects within fast-paced digital delivery environments.

Nice-To-Have Skills

• Experience supporting digital onboarding, payments, authentication, self-service, or customer engagement initiatives.
• Knowledge of mobile application delivery, digital channel operations, API integrations, or customer experience transformation programs.
• Familiarity with enterprise delivery tools such as Jira, Confluence, MS Project, Clarity, or ServiceNow.
• Previous experience working within Top 5 Canadian Banks or large financial institutions.
• Experience managing vendor relationships and third-party delivery teams.
• Exposure to cybersecurity, fraud prevention, accessibility, or regulatory compliance initiatives within digital banking environments.

Degrees or Certifications
